Hurricane Dean

|
Its hurricane season. One has hit the coast of Texas already, Eric, but by that time it was downgraded to a tropical storm, so even though it was still a good storm, it was no hurricane.
But right behind Eric, in comes Dean (Cat 2 w/ 100 mph sustained winds). Its now off the cost of Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, and St. Lucia with the eye wall heading toward Martinique and St. Lucia. Dean is also causing Tropical Storm warnings for St. Marten, Saba, St. Eustatius, Montserrat, Antiqua, St. Kitts & Nevis, Barbuda, St. Vincent, Barbados, and Grenada.
I'm making this post to say to our friends and family on these islands we're up here thinking and praying for you.
Update: 8/17/2007 4:45a.m. Hurricane Dean has now positioned itself right over the West Indie Island string, more specifically Guadeloupe & St. Lucia. Winds continue to maintain a constant wind speed of 100mph.
I have had the opportunity to talk with my friend from St. Lucia, and he's nice and safe in NYC with his lovely lady. This guy is always doing something cool. Nonetheless, my heart still goes out to everyone involved.
The lovely island of St. Kitts & Nevis is to expect tropical rains and winds by mid-morning to early afternoon. Lol, guess that means no work for the next several days. And hey, I may be some crazy American, but it may be wise for everyone to stay clear of College Street for the next few days.
