EDIT Get out of that oily suit!
Its been a while, but I'm in a mood for a rant.

There are two things bothering me: gas prices and women's suits.

Let's get gas out of the way...
Every time I turn on the news, the big thing everyone is talking about is the price of oil. Here's the facts: Iran sucks, Saudi sucks, hell, everywhere in the far east sucks. Smart people know these are not nice places, so why do we continue doing business with them? What it comes down to is we're doing business with people who want to see us dead.

After all, we have oil of our own. Oklahoma is rich with oil and Texas has even more. As I understand it (didn't look it up), the vast majority of states in the US have active oil wells. With all the oil in our country, along with all the wells in the gulf, logically we'd have more than enough oil to keep us running easily into the next century.....next several centuries.

So why do we still buy our oil over seas?
One, the vast majority of oil sites we have are not being utilized because pinko, left-winged fascists are crying and sewing to keep them closed, and there is no profit in selling oil locally.

Two, the vast majority of oil being drilled in the US is going overseas. Case in point. I know a person who works within the oil industry in western Oklahoma. He told me all the oil they drill is loaded up on trucks and trains, sent to the west coast, and shipped off to Japan. Japan is paying more for American oil than big oil could sell it for in America. Because of all the taxes and fees the US government puts on US oil companies, to stay in business they have to export their product. Also, Japan's refining standards are lower than that in the US. Which means, if you have a lower overhead you have higher profit.

This is one thing hippies should pay attention too. America is one of the cleanest countries in the world....especially for a country of this size. The big bad government is repressing the harmless little oil companies with huge fees and high taxes, and the loving government is protecting us from the polluting, money grubbing big oil.

I find it funny how hippies complain about something when the facts they have are so ass backwards to the actual facts.

So, in summary, say "thank you" to the hippies for making us pay nearly $3.00 a gal. for gas.

Women's suits, Martha is now wearing the pants
I'm all for equality. I'm for women working for the same as men. But I hate women's suits. I find them extremely sexist.

Why are women's suits socially acceptable? I talked to my wife about this earlier today. She got tired of the discussion fairly quickly, but I wasn't yet finished.

The body of the question is, "Why is it when women wear a suit it's perfectly acceptable, but as soon as a guy puts on a dress people start calling the police?" Whoever came up with the idea of suits for women surely wasn't heterosexual. Maybe I'm missing something. Is this some kind of social equivalency program? "If I dress like him, I'll be viewed the same as him." No, you're not thinking correctly. If a man generally feels negative about the opposite sex, hiding in a suit won't change his mind.

Is this some kind of attempt at "pulling women up from the shackles of the role of housewife"? Okay, but how exactly can a new wardrobe achieve this?

Women, honestly, I think you're selling yourselves short with this whole suit thing. Speaking as a man, I don't know if its something subconscious, a kind of social thing, or you simply like dressing like a man. A woman dressing like a woman doesn't make her less of a professional. Us men won't think less of you if you're wearing a dress; hell, I'm sure I'm not alone, so generally, men may think higher of you. Give your sex more respect. And I tell you what, we'll stay out of your closet if you stay out of ours. Good deal?

The hippies aren’t entirely to blame...
I put 99% of the blame on the government. Oil is what drives this planet and the government knows that. They control the oil, they control the people. That’s one reason we are buying oil from other countries right now and paying what ever price they tell us. The government knows that when these other countries run dry, then the US will still have its oil in Oklahoma, Texas, Alaska, Gulf Coast and then the US can either use the oil for itself, or sell it to the other countries - complete control of the world. The hippies are just a stall tactic the government uses to tell the American public that they have to buy the oil from another country, but when those other countries run dry, there is not a hippie on the planet that will keep the government from tapping every last well in the country regardless of "protected species treaties" or public outcry. The government needs the oil to control the people so they will do whatever is necessary to get it. What about alternative energy? The worlds first water powered car was invented in the 80's. The inventor of this car "got drunk and fell of the back of a train"... likely story. I bet he wasn’t drunk, I bet the government came after him because his invention would disrupt their power. Right now there are inventors that have found a way to make sea water burn, but they can’t get funding to continue their research either because the government won’t allow it, or because they are simply afraid the government will come after them too. Same thing goes for perpetual motion and magnetic motors, motors that can run for years and be connected to a generator to make electricity for free. Free emery is something most scientists will shoot down before you can get the words out of your mouth. "Its goes against physics" or “it would be in violation of the law of Conservation of Energy” is what they tell you, yet I’ve seen small prototypes run for months on end and power a few LED's... imagine what would happen if you step up the scale on something like that. With more research and acceptance, free energy will become a reality; the only problem right now is the government is hiding things like this from the public by blocking patents, and scaring those who attempt to invent something that will take away their power. What ever happened to that phrase "the people shouldn’t fear their government, the government should fear their people"?
