 Office Space

I get bored at work sometimes. And this is one of those days. Don't get me wrong, I like my job, and I'm glad to have it. I have a lot of freedom. In fact, for the most part, I designed this website while at work.
I am given a lot of freedom. My office is much like an extension of my home office. I think I'll share a little bit. I'm so bored; I'm making a post like this....
This is the image of what I see for most of the 8 hours on the job. You can see two monitors, which is connected to a Dell. I use it to do the work I actually was hired to do. You can see the web cams up on the left monitor. I get lonely. Seeing my wife's face helps make the day go quicker.
Next to the monitors is my MacBook (Toby). I do most non-job related stuff on it. It’s faster and it’s always a good idea to keep work and play separated.
And of course my iPod. Nice little toy right there. When things go down ITS wise, hard rock helps get the gears turning on resolving issues.
This is my little dorm room size fridge. I had it in storage just collecting dust, so I brought it in. I was getting tired of having to run down stairs to grab a cold drink. This is a large building and I’m in the way back corner upstairs. I had to walk across the building to the stairs and all the way back to the other side of the building to the break room. Anyway, I also hold food in there, but I got food from Sonic today so it was empty besides a coke, an empty bottle, "medication", and a TV dinner that's been there since 2005.
No one seems to care I have it. In fact I find other people's things in there every once in a while. That's where the "medication" came from. Not going to say what it is, but it's not hard to figure out.
My office is a bit of a mess. Mostly for papers being scattered everywhere. I also have a big box full of old hard drives I got in a garage sale few months back. Bunch of computers. Most of them work, but I got bored of them and they're just sitting around.
Also note the fan. This building has big pain glass windows all along the building, and there's one in my office that takes up about half of the exterior wall. I will walk in my office and there'll be about a 10, sometimes 20-degree difference. It's nice during the winter, but it sucks during the summer.
I have moved stuff around in my office once already and I'm starting to think about doing it again. I'm thinking about moving my desk and chair more to the back wall. I also have a few pictures I'd like to put up. Like to come down here with my wife and get a female's perspective on it.
It's very bland right now. There's a geek sense in the air, and, even though I should hold on too much of that, there needs to be more of a potpourri. I'd even like to paint it in a darker, more colorful color than off-white, but I don't think they'll let me.
But for now it's okay. But yeah, I think I will start changing things around by the end of the week. Change is good. Besides, I'd love to get this ugly, 70's filing cabinet out of here, along with the creepy stuff in it. I swear, when I moved into this office, I found memos in the desk and other places from the 80s.
