Summer fun? Ah shut up.

Summer. I hate summer. Every year seems to be the same. It starts late June to early July. From the nice cool rains in April and May to the humidity in June, it turns into a musky, moist heat. From there from that painfully annoying discomfort the weather transforms to a blistering heat.
Every year is the same: weeks at a time in 100+ degree weather. It remains hot in the house from trying to balance comfort and the electricity bill. Every nose around is full of sharp, dry buggers. From the extreme hot and dry weather, cars over heat. Old people drop dead. Even perfectly healthy, relatively young people drop dead from dehydration. And from the virtually endless painful heat, everyone is constantly angry.
Growing up, I've come close to dropping from dehydration. Mowing in the heat of the August sun, on the hottest summer in years. The air is so dry, you can't fully fill how hot it really is. It was around 120 degrees outside, but it felt like the upper 90s. The air was light and thin. I would go out, mow about 1/10 an acre, then go in to drink about half a gallon of water. I would do this several times an hour for the length of the day, and never felt the need to pee.
Being the optimist, I don't think this summer will be as bad as last year. We're already getting into 90 degree temperatures, but it's not that bad. Warm, sure, but so far so good. Last year, we seen months with no rain. Last year, even in March, April, and May, very dry. By the end of summer, every county in the state was on mandatory water conservation. Our like, for example, according to the county, is still below its normal level. And even worse, the wild fires was an almost daily situation.
But anyway, the rain we had this year was/is above average. Humidity is still in the air so there's a chance we'll have more big storms on the way. But like I said earlier, June is a very humid month.
God be with us, our grandparents, our fields, cars, our electric bills, and our nerves.
