EDIT Rain, Its a Good Thing
Its been a very rainy year thus far. I'm not about to rant about that, yet, allow me to rant about those who are ranting about the excessive rain.

People, do you remember last year? As I remember it, we had next to no rain between the months of May and September, causing extreme droughts, daily wild fires, loss of crops, mandatory water rationing, and very hot and very dry weather. Oh, but now there's too much rain. Make up your mind!

This is Oklahoma. While everyone across the country complains about erratic weather from El Niņo we've always had strange weather. I remember Springs and Summers growing up where in the morning we'd be under a drought, by noon we're under a flood watch, by supper time the weather is back up around 115° and the next day temperatures are in the 70s.

If you want perfect weather all the time, move to California....where all you have to worry about are earthquakes and creeps from Hollywood trying to convert you to Scientology.

While living in Oklahoma, you don't have to love the weather....just make up your mind what you don't like. We have it all here in terms of extremes. It gets hot and cold and very wet and very dry. If you hate hot and dry weather, you can't complain when it's wet or cold. It's like a Democrat ranting about the FBI (Think about that one for a moment).

Case in point...
Last Summer sucked; the heat was endless. When winter came around, I made the point to enjoy it while I could. Sure, for the most part, it was a fairly mild winter, but there were days in the teens. Did I complain? No! Counterotherwise, I enjoyed every moment of it. And again with this rain. The first thing I seem to do now when I wake up is check the weather report and the weather map just hoping for rain. Sure, I like rain (its very relaxing) but living as close to a runoff stream as I do there are reasons extensive rain would be less than comfortable. Nonetheless, let it rain, it beats the alternative.

So, to those on the street, news reporters, columnist, and cartoonist pick your battles. I know if by mid July all the rain goes away in place of high temperatures and dry weather you'll be praying for the rain we've been having in May and June.

After all, its not like there's an endless string of tornados, cross winds, or damaging hail. Just rain and the occasional extensive lightning. So, everyone, enjoy it; the rain won't last. When the rain stops, that will be the time to start crying.
